Recently (as in it's been a year now...) I discovered CR/DND/TTRPG in general and it's come at a time of serious career uncertainty and related mental health challenges. Matt, the gang, and the story they are creating (I'm barreling through S2) has helped me change my life. Namely, by taking a more active role in my direction while still letting empathy and community lead the way, like each of the Mighty Nein. To the degree we get to "meet our heroes" through unfiltered, vulnerable conversations like this (and it certainly seems like we rolled a nat 20 on our perception check here), I'm heartened to get a glimpse into the complex joy that animates Matt.

Saying she has an equal power dynamic in the relationship with someone but she also cant go outside without him, and she also has a lot of important things like taxes and accounting that she couldnt do without him and he has been around since she was quite young and potentially pretty vulnerable emotionally is worrying. If there were things about that relationship that were unhealthy, she wouldn’t necessarily even know it since it doesnt seem like she has a lot of real life friends with good relationships to compare to since shes so secretive and secluded. I just really hope he treats her well and is kind to her.

I think the first interview I saw with Belle was on H3. I remember being so pleased to find out she was such an intelligent and articulate woman. It sounds like she has had some hardships. But is very self aware and resilient. Awesome Woman.

Edit: Just in case people actually do read this, I want to make sure everyone knows I think these two are great and good people. No hate at all. I am just talking about how we relate to others in general and my own perspective based on a feeling evoke by something that was said. I am going to preface this by saying that I completely get it and don't think anyone is at fault in any way. You also need to care for yourself and sometimes friendships need to end. It was a little hard for me to hear these two talk about, at one small part in the video, about some friendships being too taxing and the need to cut them off, especially if their hard times is a constant in their interactions. This is of course true in many cases. But I remember what it was like going through a severe depression. Eventually everyone took this attitude with me and I became horribly isolated for a few years. The brain physically changes when you don't keep it engaged through things like socialization. It took me over a year to relearn how to interact with and communicate with people. My overall cognition was slower, I could barely articulate my thoughts, I had a hard time processing a conversation. And keep in mind, I was an astrophysics student close to graduation before I got sick. What finally helped to pull me out of that was a friend I reconnected with who was willing to devote some time to me and not make me feel like I was a burden because of an experience I didn't choose to have. And in doing so, my problems began to have less and less control of my mind and it became less and less of my focus. Sometimes you really do need to let friendships come to an end. And it is wise to decide who are going to be in the circle of friends you will care for and those you will not be able to. We only have so much energy. I don't really what what the solution to all of this is, but that was the view from my perspective.

If you have obvious good intent and someone freaks out on you over some petty nonsense, fuck em. Being offended is not anyone elses problem. You're too nice, Mercer, and you need a blunt person to follow you around and make people sit down. Ill send you my resume.

It's so funny, I was super in to voice acting long time ago and learned about Mercer that way a long time ago (also travis, laura etc.) and then my brother introduced me to CR and it was so funny seeing those people doing TTRPs together. Loved him as trafalgar law when I was in highschool.

I actually think the MrBeast comparison makes sense. Belle Delphine is always well-thought out when it comes to what she does on the internet. Of course Jimmy is on another level with the sheer volume and consistency of his work but Belle always plans well everytime she decides to do something. It's very different from most UA-camrs who often rely on impulse and vibe.
